Share Every day I join millions of commuters on an adventure on the NY subway. Why an adventure you might ask? Well because you never know who or what you'll see on the train. One of the many reasons why I love this city.

Last Friday while riding the F line to work, I couldn't help but notice this wonderful new illustration by artist Sophie Blackall. As I stared at her work I kept getting drawn by each one of the characters. Every little detail reminded me of someone I've met on the train. For example the girl with blue hair and tattoos knitting away reminded me of a gal from the East Village who once hopped on the train and started chatting with me how knitting techniques. Random I know!

I truly enjoy this piece and how it captures the diversity of New York City and it's colorful characters. Thank you miss Sophie Blackall your work made me smile for 12 train stops. Illustration work for the MTA Arts for Transit program. Visit the artist's Etsy shop here.
